(originally I had the pinecone be alive and doing this - do you like it better with the bug on the pinecone, or with a pinecone? I guess it boild down to would you rather draw a pinecone going down the fun hill - maybe not thinking it was so fun in the moment - or a bug riding a pinecone down the hill?) (this is from the pinecones perspective - maybe not show all of people)

a person steps by it and a bug (maybe camaflauged in the first picture) jumps into it (to hide) - jump
kids pick up the pinecone and put it in a wagon - bug?
The pinecone is on the tip of a pile of pinecones (on the wagon) - up
wagon is pulled up a hill (I think it would be cute to have little fat chubby toddler legs and a cloth diaper, or something like that) - up
still going up the hill (thinking not much change in senery, to make this part seem to last forever) - up
still going up the hill - up
still - up
wagon full of pinecones is dumped - dump
just after it has left the security of the wagon, and is falling, the bug peeks out. like right after there is no way the pinecone could not fall, right after the weight of the pinecone is shifted from the wagon to falling in the air.
the pinecone falls down the hill through all different kinds of contraptions naturally occuring or made by kids with natural stuff or stuff lying around that a kid would use creatively - nothing they got new or got for that purpose, just how stuff appears when kids play in a spot so long. - like the pinecones spiraling down the inside of a hollow log. (this is the funnest part of the book) on every page is a coresponding word (not necisarily all of these or in this order) thwump, flump, wump, zump, bump, fump, yump, thump, then ending with whump!
bug rubs a bump on his head - lump
kids return and start putting the pinecones back in the wagon - up up up up up up up
picking up last pinecone to put in wagon - bug?
bug sees it and decides it actually liked the ride and wants to go again and jumps onto it last min.(maybe while it is in the air.) - jump
